Q: What is Intermodal?
A: Intermodal is containerized shipments originating overseas or shipping overseas and shipped by rail transport to or from the various ports worldwide.
Q: Can domestic shipments be shipped using the Intermodal form of shipment?
A: Yes, most Steamship Lines allow for domestic shipments.
Q: What is a tri-axle?
A: A tri-axle is used to haul heavy 20 foot containerized loads that are over 37,500 pounds. Our tri-axles are 33 foot long in the closed position and spread open to approximately 40 feet to evenly distribute the weight of the container.
Q: What is LTL & OTR?
A: LTL is Less than Truck Load shipments that ship locally within 250 miles and OTR is Over The Road shipments that would deliver to a distance greater than 250 miles away.
Q: Do Whimsy drivers help in tarp removal or installation on open tops?
A: No, due to insurance regulations our drivers can not assist with the tarps on open tops.
Q: Should the shippers for export shipments send the export documents with the driver?
A: No, the export documents should be sent to the forwarder or broker. |
