Whimsy Trucking, Inc. was founded in 1996 by Matthew O’Mara.
Whimsy started with one truck in Bensenville, Illinois doing contract cartage.
In 1999, Whimsy moved to Itasca, Illinois to a larger facility and increased to 24 company trucks and 8 owner operators.
After being in business for 6 years, in 2002 Whimsy recorded revenue of $4 million dollars.
Whimsy moved to our current location in Mount Prospect, Illinois in January of 2004. This centralized location has allowed us to serve all of the Chicagoland rail yards in a timely manner.
In June of 2006, Whimsy opened a terminal in Kansas City, Missouri.
Whimsy recorded revenue of $10 million dollars in 2007.
As of 2009, Whimsy employs 35 company drivers, 16 owner operators, 3 mechanics and 10 office personnel.
Whimsy specializes in tri-axle and HAZ-MAT container loads.
